Colorado State University’s Homecoming & Family Weekend runs Oct. 1-4, and the Friday, Oct. 2 events are the ones Fort Collins families show up for. Festival on the Oval runs 3 to 6 p.m. with live music, a beverage garden, inflatables and interactive booths. Friday Night Lights follows from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on the lawn west of the Lory Student Center by the Lagoon: a pep rally, bonfire, drone show and the lighting of the A on the foothills.
Saturday, Oct. 3 brings the Homecoming 5K from the Oval (8 to 10 a.m., in person or virtual) and a 4 p.m. kickoff against Oregon State at Canvas Stadium; football tickets are sold separately. The Friday festival and bonfire list no admission charge.
Know before you go
- Campus parking is tight on Homecoming weekend; plan to walk, bike or use transit.
- Note: CSU’s separate Friday Night Lights subpage still showed a stale date at verification; the Homecoming events page and homepage both list Friday, Oct. 2.
