Watching an artist work is a different lesson from looking at finished paintings on a wall. On Saturday, Oct. 10, from noon to 3 p.m., painter Shannon Miguela is the demo artist in the Denver Art Museum’s Studio, on Level 1 of the Hamilton Building.
The Studio’s current setup, the Cosmic Studio, has three hands-on activities: painting, weaving and a dream-inspired creative exercise. The museum says visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at the artist’s process and can talk with her. Miguela is in the Studio on four Saturdays this fall; after today, the last one listed is Oct. 17.
The museum does not bill this as a homeschool program. It is a drop-in art stop that is included in general admission, and general admission is free every day for visitors 18 and under, so a family pays only for the adults.
