The Denver Center Theatre Company’s second production of the season is Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest,’ opening Friday, Oct. 2 in the Kilstrom Theatre and running through Nov. 1. Chris Coleman directs a version in which the exiled sorcerer is Prospera, stranded on an island with her daughter Miranda, who raises a storm to wreck the ship carrying the people who wronged her.
Tickets are $41 to $118, a base price that includes Denver’s 10 percent seat tax, with an 18 percent service fee added at checkout. The show runs about 2 hours and 35 minutes with one 15-minute intermission. DCPA’s advisory notes mature themes, including alcohol use and depictions and language of enslavement, so it is a better fit for teens and adults than for young kids.
