The Forney Museum of Transportation on Brighton Boulevard lists an SCFD free day on Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission is $17 for adults and $9 for children 3-12 (under 3 free), so a family of four saves more than $50. The museum also opens free on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 10 p.m. for Night at the Museums.
Inside: the Big Boy steam locomotive, antique cars, carriages, bicycles and aircraft under one roof. Regular hours are Thursday-Monday 10-5 (closed Tuesday and Wednesday), parking is free, and group tours can be arranged at 303-297-1113.
