Give Next, the school-based youth grantmaking program for middle and high school students in Larimer County, is marking 15 years. Bohemian Foundation, a primary partner in the program along with NoCo Community Foundation, reports that more than 5,300 students across 324 classrooms have taken part since 2012. Together those students have awarded 873 grants and invested more than $1.56 million in Larimer County communities.

How it works

Each participating classroom receives $5,000 to award to nonprofits in Larimer County. In the 2025-26 school year, the program’s results page says, students awarded a total of $188,389 to 41 nonprofit organizations. Of that, $165,000 came from Give Next donors, $13,314 was raised by the students themselves, and $10,075 came in matching funds from NoCo Changemakers.

How to take part

  • The next round starts with Give Next Kickoff Day on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at CSU’s Lory Student Center. Colorado State University says nearly 650 students and teachers from more than 30 Larimer County classrooms are expected, and that the event is seeking volunteers.
  • Program details and ways to support classroom grantmaking are on Bohemian Foundation’s Give Next page.

More from Larimer County: the county’s behavioral health tax is sending $3 million to 43 organizations this year, and eight Poudre School District students are National Merit semifinalists.
