Students at Red Rocks Community College have been running a free health clinic at the college’s Arvada Campus since June, according to a college news story published Friday, Sept. 4, 2026. The college says the clinic offers free basic health screenings to anyone in the community, including vitals, blood pressure checks and other services that rotate, and that it will keep meeting monthly through the end of the year.

According to the college, the idea grew out of last year, when a department chair, students and other faculty began volunteering at health fairs hosted by Casa Inmigrante, a local nonprofit. The college reports that people who come to the clinic do not need to provide health insurance or a Social Security number, and that volunteers also help visitors find a doctor and connect with other resources.

By the numbers

  • Free: the cost of a basic health screening, according to the college
  • More than $600: what the college says one visitor’s vaccine would have cost elsewhere; she received it free
  • June: when the first clinic was held
  • Oct. 31, Nov. 21 and Dec. 19: the clinic dates the college lists for the rest of 2026
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: the hours for each clinic

Why it matters locally

The clinic works in two directions. Neighbors in Arvada and nearby get a free place to have basic health numbers checked and to ask for help finding care. Students get practice working with real patients; the college says students from across Red Rocks can volunteer, and that the time counts toward community service requirements for students in programs such as medical assisting. The college names the Colorado Department of Public Health, Stride and Casa Inmigrante among the partners that make the clinic possible.
