Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, beside Belmar Park at 801 S. Yarrow St., is an outdoor museum of relocated 20th-century Colorado buildings: a schoolhouse, a farmhouse, a filling station and more. The grounds are open daily, and the visitor center and museum store run Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is also the site of Cider Days on Oct. 3-4.
The reason it earns a spot on a homeschool list: the city’s school-programs page says guided tours are aligned to Colorado Academic Standards, cost $5 per student with teachers and chaperones free, run about 90 minutes, and can be adjusted for Scouts, homeschool classes and senior groups.
