The Gardens on Spring Creek, Fort Collins’ city-run botanic garden, offers guided tours matched to grade level from Pre-K through college, on topics such as pollinators, plant science and soil-to-snack. Most tours cost $7 per student and run 90 minutes to two hours. Large tours of 31 to 60 students are scheduled in April and May and from August through October; small tours of up to 30 students run November through March, which makes late fall and winter the easier season for a co-op.
Tours are requested through a free account on the city’s Engage system and an online request form. One caution: the school and family pages speak of school groups and do not mention homeschoolers, so a co-op should confirm it can book before promising the kids a date. Groups of 10 to 20 visiting on their own can get $2 off admission if tickets are bought a week in advance.
