For homeschool groups with young children, the Children’s Museum of Denver has a simple group rate: $2 off general admission for groups of 10 or more. The museum says its exhibits are designed for children from newborn to age 8, so this is a trip for the early elementary and preschool crowd. General admission is $19.75 for ages 2-59 and $17.75 for age 1 and for ages 60 and up, and babies under 1 are free. With the group discount, that works out to $17.75 for most kids and adults.
The rules are short. The group checks in together at the front desk and pays with a single payment method, with no split checks. Advance payment is not accepted, so you pay on arrival, and tickets are not sold online. One adult is required for every five children. All 10 people have to be general admission guests: members and anyone using another discount do not count toward the 10. Food and drinks are not allowed in exhibit spaces, and there is seating in Joy Park and the cafe. Parking is free for museum visitors.
The museum’s school programs are a separate offering and no longer take place at the museum. Staff bring them to your site within the seven-county metro area. Each session runs 45 minutes for 15 to 30 students, and most cost $208 for the first session and $104 for each additional one. Topics include World Dance and Drumming and Wellness Warriors (pre-K to grade 1), Kinetic Engineers and Healthy Planet Heroes (K-3), and Earth Balloon (grades 1-3, $234 for the first session), where students step inside a 26-foot-tall inflatable Earth. Neither the group visit page nor the school programs page mentions homeschool groups, so a co-op that wants a traveling program should ask on the request form.
