The Loveland Museum at 503 N. Lincoln Ave. is an easy downtown stop for a Northern Colorado homeschool day: children 12 and under get in free, Loveland residents pay $7 and non-residents $10. Admission covers the main gallery, the permanent local-history exhibits and several smaller galleries. Hours are Tuesday-Wednesday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday-Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday. Children must be accompanied by someone 16 or older.
Through Nov. 28, 2026, the Dunning Gallery holds ‘Connected by the Canyon,’ marking 50 years since the July 31, 1976 Big Thompson flood that killed 144 people, with photographs, maps, recovered objects and oral histories from the canyon and a focus on how the community recovered. For a Loveland history unit, it is the exhibit to see this fall. The museum also lists a free day on Wednesday, Oct. 14 (11 a.m.-5 p.m.) tied to the Loveland Art Studio Tour.
