City Floral Garden Center & Landscaping, at 1440 Kearney St. in Denver’s Mayfair neighborhood, traces its start to 1911, when the Lammermann family founded a greenhouse for cut flower production. Its history page says the greenhouse kept producing cut flowers, including carnations, roses and tulips, until the 1970s, and describes City Floral as the oldest remaining greenhouse in Denver.
What they do
After the cut-flower years, the business shifted toward bedding plants and foliage and became a garden center. It describes itself as locally and independently owned. The center is also pet-friendly: a greenhouse cat roams the premises, and well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome.
