The Artisan Shop & Studio describes itself as where Etsy meets Pinterest, in real life, and that is a fair summary of the storefront at 5957 Sky Pond Dr., Suite D160, in the Promenade Shops at Centerra. Founded in 2024 by the McPheeters family, the shop sells pottery, jewelry, embroidered textiles, woodwork and decor from local and regional artisans, and its stated mission is to celebrate the unique stories and talents of those makers while inspiring creativity in everyone who visits. The site puts the economics plainly: every purchase, every class and every creation helps sustain the makers who pour their heart and soul into their work.
Classes worth booking this fall
The studio side is the reason to bookmark it. The class calendar on the site lists Hand Building Clay Pumpkins on Oct. 17, 1:30-3:30 p.m., for $45; a Mosaic Lamp Workshop on Oct. 18, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., for $55; Beginner Crochet Basics on Oct. 11 for $25; and a Tiffany-style stained glass sun catcher class for $65. Paint Your Own Pottery is available for walk-in creativity, and the shop ran kids’ art camps over the summer at $195 per week.
