Tony’s Meats & Market dates to 1978. That year, according to the company’s website, founder Tony Rosacci was driving down Dry Creek Road, saw a for-sale sign on a former 7-Eleven at Dry Creek and Eudora, and opened the first Tony’s there. The site says he had been in the grocery trade since he was nine, when he started working at a small Italian corner market in Detroit, and that he went back to the business in Denver after serving in the U.S. Army.
The site describes Tony’s as a family business from the start. Tony’s wife, Nancy, put together the first small deli menu from butcher trimmings that were going unused. Their son Daniel, now the CEO, began working at the market at 13, and another son, Mick, is the company’s executive chef. Produce and baked goods were added over time, and today there are three stores: Littleton, Centennial and Castle Pines.
What they do
The Littleton market sits in the middle of the Bowles Village shopping center and, the site says, has the largest bakery of the three stores. Shoppers will find fresh meat and seafood counters, a deli with prepared foods to take home, a bakery, a cheese shop, local produce and pantry goods. Tony’s also caters.
