The Longmont Museum reopens on Saturday, Oct. 17, after an expansion the city puts at nearly $10 million, with 70% more gallery space. Before the new rooms open, here is a look back. - Grand reopening: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., free all day

- The day: Ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. with brief remarks from Museum Director Erik Mason, then activity blocks at 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with Discovery Days for ages 2 to 6, an art class sampler, history talks, a film screening and guided tours
- Opening exhibition: “Frida Kahlo: An Intimate Portrait,” Oct. 17 through Jan. 31
- For kids: DreamLab, a permanent children’s gallery
- After opening day: Open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for youth, free for members and children under 2, and $1 with a qualifying EBT or SNAP card. The second Saturday of each month is free.
