The Johnstown Historical Society is spending Halloween morning telling the town’s history where much of it is buried. Cemetery Crawl 2026 is a guided walking tour of Johnstown Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, with costumed characters at the gravestones sharing the stories of people who once lived in Johnstown. Tours start at 10 a.m. and noon and last about an hour.
The cost is $5 per person for ages 13 and up, and kids 12 and under are free with an accompanying adult. Tour spots are limited, and registration is open through the form on the historical society’s event page. Costumes are welcome. The society recommends comfortable shoes and a jacket, gloves and a hat, since the shaded cemetery can be chilly in late October. Most stops follow the cemetery roadways, and the society says the stops in grassy areas are navigable for guests with mobility aids.
