The Arvada Balsam Temporary Library sets out chess, checkers and other board games for grade school kids on Monday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. Cookies, milk and other snacks come with the games.
The library has both standard and giant-sized game sets on hand. Jefferson County Public Library lists the program for school-age kids and does not label it a homeschool program. It is a weekday, early-afternoon program for grade schoolers, so homeschool families can use it for strategy-game practice and time with other kids during the day.
