Loveland Opera Theatre opens its fall production at the Rialto Theater on Friday, Oct. 9, with Die Fledermaus, the Johann Strauss Jr. operetta about a love triangle, a prank and a champagne-soaked party at the home of Prince Orlofsky. The company subtitles it Revenge of the Bat and sings it in English with projected titles, so first-time opera goers can follow along.
There are six performances over two weekends in downtown Loveland. The two Friday shows are the evening option for a date night, and the four weekend matinees leave room for dinner on Fourth Street afterward. Running time is listed at about 2 hours, 20 minutes.
