Harvest Hoot takes over the Children’s Museum of Denver from Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25. The museum’s list of activities includes a Monster Mash Circus where kids learn tricks, sensory sand potions, carnival games, make-your-own spooky stuffies and a cranberry bog to explore. Costumes are encouraged, as long as they stay family-friendly.
Two things to know. First, the museum says there is no trick-or-treating at Harvest Hoot. Second, advance tickets are not available for this event: tickets are sold day-of at the museum, first-come, first-served. Harvest Hoot activities are included with museum admission, which is $19.75 for ages 2 to 59, $17.75 for 1-year-olds and for adults 60 and older, and free for babies under 1 and for members.
Know before you go
- Children’s Museum of Denver, 2121 Children’s Museum Drive, Denver. The museum lists its hours as 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week.
- Costume rules for Adventure Forest: helmets must fit securely, so no masks; no accessories that hang off the costume, such as scarves, necklaces or capes; props such as wands, swords and brooms stay behind; and if a costume is bulky or impedes movement, bring an extra set of clothing to climb in.
- A lower-priced visit earlier in the month: on Tuesday, Oct. 6, the museum is open until 7 p.m. and admission after 4 p.m. is $12. Those tickets are not sold online.
- More Halloween for kids: Boo at the Zoo and the Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Four Mile Historic Park, Oct. 17-18.
