Two choirs, about 150 voices in all, and a full orchestra take on Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2, the “Lobgesang” or Hymn of Praise, on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver. The Colorado Chorale and Augustana’s Chancel Choir are singing it together to open the fall concert season.
The church describes the piece as a cross between a symphony and a cantata, one that moves from darkness toward light. Tickets through the Chorale’s ticketing page are $25 for general admission and $20 for seniors, with free tickets for students and for Chorale members. The ticket page we read shows the date, address and prices but not the start time; the 7 p.m. start comes from the Colorado Chorale’s season page, so give your ticket confirmation a second look before you head out.
