Golden Library hosts its monthly Pokémon Club on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 5 p.m. The hour brings together card players of every skill level, from first-timers to kids who already have a tournament-size deck.
Newer players can borrow one of the library’s beginner decks, and experienced players can bring their own 60-card deck. Card trading only happens when a child’s adult is present. Jefferson County Public Library lists the club for school-age kids and tweens and does not label it a homeschool program. Homeschool families can use it as a social hour built around a game that rewards reading, arithmetic and strategy.
