The Forney Museum of Transportation offers two kinds of group visits. Guided tours are led by museum staff and cover the history of the museum, artifacts in its collection and how transportation has changed over time; they must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Self-guided tours let a group move at its own pace and spend time on what matches its coursework; they must be booked at least one week in advance and need a minimum of 10 guests.
For groups with children, the museum requires one adult for every five children and says accompanying escorts come in at no charge. The group page does not publish a per-student rate, so ask for the price when you send the tour request. Regular admission is $17 for adults, $14 for seniors 65 and older and $9 for children 3 to 12, and children under 3 are free.
A note for homeschool families: the group page is written for groups and teachers in general and does not mention homeschoolers. A co-op that can bring 10 or more people fits the stated minimum for a self-guided visit; a smaller family group should ask the museum what applies.
