The History Colorado Center books two-hour field trips in three daily time slots, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at $5 per student ($2.50 for Title I schools). School staff are free, caregiver chaperones pay $8, and the museum prefers one adult for every 10 students. The 2026-27 program list covers Colorado Time Travelers (K-5), Indigenous History (K-12), Middle School Westward Expansion & Settler Colonialism (6-8), Democratic Principles in Conflict (6-12), High School US History (9-12), Museum Studies 101 (4-12) and a Research Center program (6-12).
A caution for homeschool families: the field-trip page and its sign-up form are written for school groups and do not mention homeschoolers, a minimum group size or which days are offered. Every group has to go through the reservation form, so a co-op should use it to ask whether it qualifies for the student rate. Families visiting on their own should know that children are free at this museum every day.
