The Midnight Oil Bookstore, on 10th Street in downtown Greeley, calls itself Northern Colorado’s largest independent new and used bookstore, with more than 50,000 new and used books on its shelves. The basement holds a collector’s room named Belinda’s Book Bazaar.
How it works
The store does not buy books, but it gives store credit for trades, which is the practical way to turn a shelf you have finished into one you have not. It also hosts two monthly book clubs: a book-to-movie club with The Kress Cinema on the last Tuesday of the month and an in-store discussion on the last Wednesday.
Good to know
- 827 10th St., Greeley; (970) 673-8675.
- Open every day 10 a.m.-8 p.m., except the last Tuesday of each month, when it closes at 5 p.m.
- The store’s site does not tell its founding story or name its owners, so we have not either.
