Poudre School District is out on Friday, Oct. 16, and Fort Collins Museum of Discovery fills the day with a School Day Out camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum’s October blog calls this session Tech Day.
The camp is a full day of STEAM-based activities for kids who have finished kindergarten and are in first through fifth grade. It is a drop-off program, with drop-off from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and pickup from 4 to 4:30 p.m., and the museum’s blog says lunch and snacks are included. It costs $85, or $76.50 for members.
The museum does not market this to homeschoolers; it follows the school district’s calendar. Nothing on the registration page limits it to district students, though, so it can work as a one-day science class with other kids. The museum said in late September that space was still available. The Oct. 15 session is sold out.
