A bilingual musical about Día de Muertos comes to the Lakewood Cultural Center for a Sunday matinee on Oct. 11. Sugar Skull follows 12-year-old Vita Flores, who cannot understand why her family is preparing a celebration for relatives who have died.
A candy skeleton comes to life and takes her on a journey through the meaning of the holiday, told with traditional regional music and dance from Mexico. The Lakewood Cultural Center lists the show for young audiences and families, running from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
