The Gregory Allicar Museum of Art is Colorado State University’s art museum, on the first floor of the University Center for the Arts at 1400 Remington St. The museum says it is always free and open to all. It is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
For groups, the museum’s visit page says class visits are available to CSU faculty and instructors as well as non-CSU educators, and that an art historian can be available to meet a class to address the art on view and in the museum collections. Visits are arranged by email with your preferred dates, times and galleries. The page does not mention homeschool groups by name, a group size or grade levels, so a co-op should write and ask.
The exhibitions page currently lists ‘Of a Feather,’ ‘Ralph Steadman: And Another Thing,’ ‘AfroBohemian Home: An Installation by Zsudayka Nzinga’ and the CO/LAB Gallery, with ‘Handheld’ listed as upcoming on Oct. 21. Closing dates are not shown there.
