Clothes Pony & Dandelion Toys calls itself a large, rambling shop in a historic building in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins, and the description undersells the inventory. The sister-owned, independent store at 111 N. College Ave. carries children’s clothing from newborn through size 14, shoes and accessories, books from board books through young adult, toys, games, puzzles, art and craft kits, costumes and baby gifts, and it stocks maternity clothes, cloth diapers and carriers for the parents. The shop also makes a point of carrying Colorado-made products.
The store’s philosophy, in its own words: we love kids, sassy, ferocious, fearless, wild, wondering, stinky, shy, brilliant, brash, loud, funny, cuddly, stuttering and sweet. Its only rule is to make a mess and have fun, which tells you how the toy side of the floor is meant to be used.
